Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that is particularly dangerous in certain concentrations. Breathing air from both compressed-air and ambient-air sources have the potential to be contaminated with CO. Oil-lubricated compressors can produce CO as a by-product of combustion, while ambient air pumps can draw in contaminated air for idling vehicles parked near the pump’s air intake.
Installing a Clemco carbon monoxide monitors provides an extra level of safety while using sandblasting equipment and supplied-air respirators. Clemco CO monitors provide visual and audible alarms if CO reaches 10 ppm.
CMS-2 model is to be used with HP respirator systems only.
