Clemco #29766
The CMS-4 is a field, in-helmet, CO monitor/alarm for air respirators and can be moved from helmet to helmet. Connector and test gas are not included with this monitor. Bottles of test gas used on the CMS-3 are the same for the CMS-4, however you will need a new CMS-4 Calibration Kit.
This monitor detects the presence of CO inside Apollo supplied-air respirators. If CO exceeds 10 ppm, the US limit set to meet Grade D quality breathing air requirements*, it triggers a warning light and a high-decibel audible alarm. The CMS-4 Monitor mounts to the inside of the respirator via a 3" lexan strip with velcro on it. The 3 inch strip slides between the inner lens and gasket on the inside of the respirator.
Calibration videos for the CMS-4 can be found under the "Videos" tab above.
The CMS-3 Calibration Connection kit is not compatible with the CMS-4. A new calibration connection kit is required for the CMS-4. This monitor is for blasting and painting contractors in field operations. NIOSH has approved the use of the CMS-4 with Clemco respirator models Apollo 20, 60, and 600.
The CMS-4 offers a full range of features, including:
- Digital liquid crystal display (LCD)
- Visual, audible, and vibrating alarms
- Low battery alarm
- Sensor fail alarm
- Current time display
- Over 3,000 hours of operation from 1 battery
- CSA classified for Class I, Division I, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous atmospheres
*Users outside the USA should determine their local requirements and set the alarm threshold to their maxim.
