Ambient air pumps provide an alternative to using air compressors and High Pressure (HP) respirator systems. These simple pumps draw in and move air from a location upwind and away from the blasting area to the Low Pressure (LP) respirator.
It is important to make sure ambient air pumps are away from the blast site to prevent air contamination and that they are not located near areas of heavy vehicle emissions, a potential hazard for CO.
OSHA regulations require air supplied to respirator to be at least Grade D quality.
